petition to the government re Me and Lyme disease

>

>

> Dear friends,

>

> Please sign the new petition to the government. I have had Lyme

disease for nearly 24 years and am having to buy my own antiobiotics

just to stop the disease progressing even further.

> No consultant in my PCT, be it neurologist, rheumatologist, or

even the infectious disease expert, will acknowledge my illness. I

have lost my house, my career and 99% of social contact. The

spirochaete borrelia bacteria are visible in my blood yet the

doctors are all ignoring the evidence. Huge microfilarial nematode

worms have now been seen in my blood, similar to the ones that cause

elephantiasis (but not exactly the same). These bacteria and worms

must be from the tick bites I got in Scotland in 1985, which began

the whole illness.

> For 19 years all the doctors said I had ME or Post Viral

fatigue Syndrome or Chronic fatigue Syndrome and it was all part of

stress, anxiety and depression. The only cure was rest. Is this all

they can do for us in the 21st century?

> There are 250,000 of us in the UK with this kind of diagnosis

and no one knows how many of that number could be suffering from

these parasitic bacteria and microfilarial worms..

> Please sign the new petition. They ignored the last one, which

had only 2,000 signatures. We need 20,000 or 30,000 people to sign.

So please pass this on to as many of your friends as you can think

of.

> Yours sincerely, with optimism in the voice of the people,
