Hello all - I am new and have a serious question. It's been confirmed

(by doctors) that my year long (serious) healthy complaints are due to

mold exposure. Although my apartment complex is offering to move me

for free - should I not be concerned with mold having gotten into and

onto my personal belongs? Wouldn't I just be moving mold with me??

The short answer to both your questions is YES. The sooner you can

move of that toxic environment, the better....you will notice an

improvement in your health (once you've left), although the mycotoxins

doesn't easily leave the body & you may incur continued health

problems/symptoms.

The MD most mentioned & recommended by people on this Group is

Dr Ritchie Shoemaker in Pocomoke City, land. His office ph # is

410-957-1550 and website is http://www.chronicneurotoxins.com/ He

has recently published a book called " Mold Warrior " and you can order

it by calling his office. Cholestyramine (or Questran) taken 4 times

a day is typically the medication he prescribes for Sick Building,

Lyme, etc patients.

If you have further questions, feel free to post away.

Hi Jack,

Saw your email post and thought i would try to help

you. Not sure what state you are in but most states

now have some type of certification required by the

state.

If your state has a certification process, you can

check with the state via their web site and find a

list of licensed contractors in your area. This is a

good place to start. 2nd, check with BBB in your area

for licensed contractors. 3rd, get references from all

the contractors that give you bids on your project.

Finally, " steamatic " is a national franchise. They

specialize in restoration and cleaning not

remediation. Restoration and cleaning does not

typically involve containment, negative pressure,

drying, dehumidification, personal protective gear, or

use of respirators. This is not always the case, some

branches may be well versed in remediation techniques.

If they are, references from both residential and

commercial clients should be provided.

Lastly, take the time to sit down with your job

estimator and have him explain by line item what he

intends to do, ie.. work scope, containments, negative

pressure, equipment, personnel, safety plan, work

hours, MSD on the chemicals used, duration, gurantees,

and testing-before and after the project.

Hope this helps. I work for a remediation contractor

in the south. If i can help you with additional

information, feel free to send me an email.

Good luck and i hope this helps,

Bankston
