Guest guest
My ACTH results are at the end of this message; endocrinologist says my adrenals may not be working or not working very well. He prescribed ½ tablet of 0.1 mg. Florinef and 25 mg. Cortisone Acetate in the morning and half of that “just before supper”. I have been on this dose for 6 weeks. I have become very weak, dizzy, exhausted and spend most of my day in my recliner. I no longer go out, or allow visitors and don’t take phone calls. At night, I wake after 5 hrs. of sleep, very buzzed and agitated, heart racing. Then I crash a few hours later and usually sleep for another hour or two. My tinnitus increases when I take the meds and I get a headache. My endo insists I need this dosage because of my low cortisol levels. I would like to try the naturopathic route, but worry that my cortisol levels are too low. I am also hypothyroid – endo is checking those levels as well as sodium, potassium, creatinine. I am becoming quite desperate as I keep getting weaker. Here are my ACTH results: Cortisol nmol/L Basal: <13 30 min.: 110 60 min.: 157 Reference values: Normal response is a peak cortisol level >550 nmol/L Thanks to anyone who can help. Kathy F. Re: Homeopathic adrenal support? Hi Olga, I don't know about a Homeopathic treatment, but just in case it might help... I have a good response to something Dr. Cheney suggested, which is Desiccated Adrenal by Standard Process. I have to find the bottle to check that spelling. My intolerance to stress also escalates horribly with heat, which causes a whole cascade of brain and body events, rather immediately. I'll email you with some further thoughts.
