Guest guest
I have observed that often people with CFIDS will end up sitting at a computer and playing the same game constantly. As they improve, they will find the game boring and seek out a bit more challenging game. Typically the game hits the " sweet spot " of what the brain can handle and the brain is trying to re-condition itself (without going too far). Recently the Nitendo WII gaming system has been making news because many physical therapists are finding it a useful tool for their clients. There are two 'games' that are particularly good for CFIDS folks: WII-FIT, which is designed to handle a variety of levels from couch potato to good fitness levels. (see http://www.gamespot.com/wii/sports/wiifit/review.html ) WII-SPORT, less physical training but you can work up a sweat. WII-Brain Age, http://www.gamespot.com/wii/puzzle/gentlebrainexercises/review.html ------------------------------------------ If family has a WII, see about trying it with any of the above titles. The expected benefits are: * Retraining and conditioning of the brain (and brain control of body) * No need to track your progress, the game will do it for you * Short simple activities. Is anyone else out there using the WII? (We are, with good effect).
