Guest guest
one of my parents wrote a letter for us 5/4/2005 5:01:40 PM Eastern Daylight Time From: " judit szaloki " <etoys@...> To Whom It May Concern: I am writing on behalf of my friends Judit Szaloki, Larry and their four children, whose story was written up in the March, 31,05- April ,06,05 edition of the Hook see enclosed article: http://readthehook.com/stories/2005/03/31/coverThisMoldHouseFamilyDe. html http://www.readthehook.com/stories/2005/04/21/newsMoldUpdateSamaritan sTa.htm to see if your company can help. Judit, who has lovingly taken care of our children and many others for the past 17 years in her in-home daycare, and her husband Larry, a former Marine who recently opened a toystore in town, put their life savings into buying a home in Charlottesville that should have been condemned due to toxic mold. Evidently the basement (advertised as a playroom) had been flooded and the water allowed to sit year after year creating the perfect environment for mold growth. The previous owner boarded up and painted over the black mold so that even the inspector couldn & #146;t detect the lurking disaster when they decided to purchase the house. Once discovered, it was too late. Virginia laws are " buyer beware " . Now they are in great need and their only recourse is to depend on the kindness of their community.. They have lost almost everything. All their possessions that they had moved into the house & #151;clothing, bedding, pots & pans, dishes, furniture & #133;etc. & #151;have to be thrown out because they now contain toxic mold spores. Bob Fenwick -Homework Productions-was first to come to the rescue. Installed a sub slab and block wall ventilation system that will dry out behind and inside block walls and beneath the slab for a $1. Central Virgina Rental , Maddux of Ferguson Maddux and Spruce Industries of Massachusetts- helped out.Than Steve with Service Masters of Virginia has stepped forward and voluntarily gutted house to destroy the source of the mold-- rotten wood , putrid drywall , ceiling . They performed this $60,000 service for free after hearing about the catastrophe. Soon the s new home will be mold-free, but it will also be gutted. They have run out of rent money and need to move soon. Can your company donate one or more of the items or services on the following pages to help the s make their home liveable? The s have successfully contacted media sources to publicize the incredible act of generosity performed by ServiceMaster Clean Steve , and would like to do the same for any business that steps forward during this difficult time.
