Guest guest
<< , I also have chronic pain...I can't practice anymore because of it (I used to have a chiropractic practice.) Even on a good day, something hurts. (I focus on other things or I'd be like one of the Whiners on the old Saturday Night Live.)What is helping me is trying to keep my body more alkaline. Enzyme therapy is also very important. Go to google or another search engine and plug in things like alkalizing minerals, alkalizing foods, alkaline diet, etc.>> Okay, I will look into this... <<A new book on the market is The pH Miracle. The Nature's Sunshine website also a page on this information. By the very nature of this plan, you avoid a lot of the foods that are on GFCF and SCD diets. Perhaps one of the reasons these diets help is they encourage people to eat more alkalizing foods.>> Ugh...I got so used to eating whatever I wanted when I was pregnant and breastfeeding...all my allergies and asthma vanished and I felt great! I know I need to eat better but like most people was waiting until after the holidays...we do a modified CF, corn-free with enzymes for my older two, organic for the baby, and Atkins for my husband...I am loathe to add myself to the mix again! <<Good luck with your pain--I can truly sympathize. Robin>> Thanks, Robin, and right back at you...you can always email whine to me, okay? : ( M
Guest guest
, I also know the hassle of multiple diet plans. Perhaps you and your husband can actually do your plans together. Atkins by its nature is very acidic (a lot of meats, cheeses, etc.) and not alkalizing but you can make choices that are more alkaline--actually, if he is willing to just eliminate processed carbs and add in fruit and veggies, you will have a lot to choose from. If he eats fruits on an empty stomach (one hour before a meal and two hours after a meal), he will still lose weight. It really is a pleasure to eat what you want...I have days that I eat really lousy. I just feel worse afterwards (for example, crescent rolls, stuffing, green bean casserole, the chocolate turtle cheesecake on Thanksgiving..yum). Thanks, too, for the whining offer I probably won't take you up on it for the pain stuff--maybe for trying to figure out what to do for my son ? Good luck, Robin
