Guest guest
Linolim in sheets is the best, because there are no openings for things to get stuck in and grow mold, or the fumes to get out. They do sell it as laminate flooring, that clicks together like pergo, then you needs underlament, that could be cork, but I think that would not be as good as the sheet, because you have all the seems in the tiles that could hold dirt. Armstrong makes it, and a brand called Marmolium. Half of my rental is real linolium, it is 35 years old, not a scratch or marred area in it. It is the ultimate green flooring, I wish Im couls afford to do my whole house in it. From: " barb1283 " <barb1283@...> Subject: Re: flooring , Is linoleum put down in sheets or tiles? Guest guest
This is something we're looking at too. We've decided on a real wood floor, and invested in a hepa filter which is supposed to change the air in the room 6 times an hour. You can buy organic carpets, but I haven't bothered researching these as eventually old carpets become as bad as new ones, holding onto mould spores and general toxins, etc. I shudder when I look back now, as we bought a new carpet when a toddler, crawling around and breathing in all the toxins a new carpet gives off, and also eating all the little bits that come off a wool carpet. hth Diane Flooring Hi does anyone know what the safest flooring is for our kids ie with the least chemicals and off -gassing. I seem to be going around in circles looking for a new floor and in the end I do nothing and leave the same old poo stained carpet!ThanksPeta
Guest guest
Funny that should come up. I've lots of carpets around the house being fitted tomorrow. Saw Dr Heard today and he advised that we steam clean them with water asap and not with any chemicals. Should I be doing anything else? Guest guest
Oh boy. We're just looking into recarpeting the whole house to get rid of the polypropylene carpets thaw we have. We're going to get wool carpets (thinking taht this was ok)and a wood floor in the hall. I'll take Dr heard's tip to steam clean the carpets on board, what's wrong with the wood?
