Guest guest
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=24148 Note the reference to Streptomycin being the first of the researchers efforts to not be toxic to humans. However, I realize this is Actinomycetes, not mycology. It is my understanding that after Pennicillin made such a large impact in the world wars, there was research into other mold toxins such as those from aspergillis and stachybotris to see if they would produce more effective antibiotics. Unfortunately, these proved to be " not well tolerated by the host " , and were found to have no application for medicine. The military, on the other hand, found uses for these.
