Guest guest
Just a fyi, the EDTA experiment appear to have significant positive effects. For myself, there is an appearance the it reduces coagulation (or coagulation triggering substances?). The frequency and amount of anticoagulant substance I need to keep at peak performance is less often and smaller amounts). For the CFIDSer in the house -- it appears to be exposing infections to the immune system (temperatures jumping to 102F etc). We are finding ourselves tuning the quantity to produce minor side-effect instead of allowing it go full-blown and possibly endup in the emergency room. I have grave concerns over EDTA by IV because of that type of risk. Also, I would advise getting the immune system stronger, done a round of antibiotics etc PRIOR to reduce the load on the immune system first -- AGAIN, to keep the immune response side- effects tolerable.... I have created a poll for others to share their experience. Checking PUBMED: " EDTA appeared to be the best anticoagulant with regard to blood cell preservation and showed the lowest whole blood viscosity over a wide range of shear rates (0.1 to 87.0 sec-1). " PMID: 2105367 " Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA) is the anticoagulant recommended for full blood counts " http://cat.inist.fr/? aModele=afficheN & cpsidt=14469452 Interesting in terms of testing for coagulation: " the objective of this report was to present the case of a patient who presented with an extremely low number of platelets when her blood was analyzed in an EDTA-containing tube and its numbers were normal when the blood was analyzed with citrate, alerting for the risk of erroneously administering blood products. " As always, consult with your medical professional before starting.
