Guest guest
Hi Shan thanks. How do you measure acidity of the body? would urine ph be fine? citrus might be aggravating my arthritis, too. nil [Moderator: " The best way to measure pH is to set up an appointment with your doctor and ask them to do a urine analysis as well as a blood analysis. You want him/her to measure the fasting pH of your blood and urine. You can use litmus paper and get a general indication of where the pH of the urine is. The saliva pH is too variable and unpredictable. The saliva pH will vary depending on not only what you are eating, but the emotions for that day can affect it as well. That is true to a certain extent with the urine, emotions do impact the pH of the fluids of our body. The time to test the pH is in the morning, the first morning urine. Take a strip of the pH paper and wet it. That would be a good indicator of what is happening inside your body as it pertains to the internal pH. It is just an estimate. If the paper does not change color, that indicates a highly acidic body. It should change color. If it is too much color (dark blue), that also indicates highly acidic. Balanced pH of urine should be 6.8-7.2. (medium green) Saliva, too, should be between 6.8-7.2 " http://alkalarianmessengers.tribe.net/thread/a6cb50ca-8e6d-4678-b0bc-2d60ef9a2c7\ 8 Some readings * http://www.springerlink.com/content/t301813g39080528/ * http://www.unc.edu/news/archives/nov98/acid.htm * http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/analsci/23/4/23_463/_article * http://ezinearticles.com/?Alkalizing-Test-Measures-Tissue-Acidity-As-a-Marker-Fo\ r-Cancer & id=1286711 * http://www.naturalhealthschool.com/acid-alkaline.html NOTE: Changing pH will change solubability of most minerals (Calcium, Potassium etc) NOTE: Typical the accuracy needs to be in the 0.1 range, not in the 0.5 range]
