Candida strain testing

Curious if anyone has had success with testing to id which strains of

candida they had. I suspect mine came from far too many antibiotics

wiping everything out. Haven't been able to get any testing because I

wouldn't know what to start looking for. Visible evidence (oral) and

gi symptoms are all I can explain to doctors but it's not much help so

far.

[Moderator: Identifying the strain DOES NOT imply that it is the result of too

many antibiotics. Antibiotic resistance appears to be transfered by RNA and DNA

fragments from one bacteria being incorporated into another bacteria (which may

be completely different)

" RNA modification enzymes in the manifestation of methyltransferases play a

major role in antibiotic resistance in bacteria "

Question: What are you attempting to obtain? Treatment for the candida? or

Undestanding from the MD? ]

Thank You for replying. I hoped in identifying the strain & severity

the sensitivity could be better targeted in conjunction with diet

modification. This would hopefully prevent the anti-fungals from

becoming impotent.

I've been blanketed with bacterial antibiotics, but not fungals.

Learning from resistance of my bacterial infections where cultures

weren't obtained, I do not want to repeat the same mistake when I

begin treating the candida or other fungus.

The mention of antibiotics in my post wasn't specific. Not really to

resistance, more to the effect of repetitive antibiotic use without

probiotics and other good bacteria builders laying out the carpet for

fungal growth. That's my understanding at least.

Regarding the MD's, I have to guide them. I can usually get a test

performed, but if the first result is negative, I lose them. So back

to my original question of what has worked for others in identifying

the strain, would help me tremendously in getting the testing I need

and then treatment if necessary.

If you would like the post rephrased for clarification feel free to

remove it and I'll try again.

Thanks Again,

PS: Thanks for the explanation of resistance transfer and the link. I

truly never thought about it. I simply believed critters learned

independently how to beat the drug. If they share resistance, it's

scarier than my ignorance, but that knowledge is a great tool in

treatment approaches. If I understood correctly.
