Guest guest
Dear Ken, I've decided to try chlorine dioxide, which you've mentioned a few times in your posts, so I ordered some from REI. The instructions for using it to purify water say to mix it up and then wait 4 hours. I'm thinking that if I want to take advantage of the anti-biofilm effect, I should use it right away and not wait 4 hours. Does this sound right to you? [Moderator: Once the tablet is FULLY dissolved, just stir the solution and you should be good. The 4hrs is recommended so it has time to kill any bacteria in the water (does not apply in this case). Please note that it should be kept in the DARK " When chlorine dioxide is photo-oxidized by sunlight, it falls apart. " http://www.lenntech.com/water-disinfection/disinfectants-chlorine-dioxide.htm which points out " It is a very strong oxidizer and it effectively kills pathogenic microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses. It also prevents and removes bio film. As a disinfectant and pesticide it is mainly used in liquid form. Chlorine dioxide can also be used against anthrax, because it is effective against spore-forming bacteria. " ] Thanks, Marcia on in Salem, Massachusetts > [Moderator: Sinus infection likely persist due to Biolfilms. EDTA or even rinsing the sinus with Chlorine Dioxide solution (4ppm concentration) should (in theory) break down the biolfilm] >
