Guest guest
http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20026854.900 " FOR the first time, a gene is being linked to increased susceptibility to the placebo effect, the mysterious capacity some people have to benefit from sham treatments. " This is very important to keep in mind when dealing with some 'alternative' approaches. I personally tend to be agnostic towards them, but I do believe in the placebo effect -- thus if someone believes it will help -- go for it. Just remember it may be a valid placebo cure (which only some can benefit from -- so don't become born- again for the treatment as a salvation for all).
