Guest guest
Hi, Mark. I recall the paper by Kurup and Kurup, and I think I had a copy of it some years ago, but am not able to locate it now in my less than meticulously kept files (:-). At the time, I didn't know what to make of it, and as I recall, there were not a lot of details about how the measurements were made and what their significance was. I recall that they reported low glutathione and low nitric oxide, and both Marty Pall and I cited it in things we wrote, in support of our hypotheses. I remember communicating with Marty about it when the paper was published. I haven't gone back and looked at it since I adopted the partial methylation cycle block hypothesis, and I should do that. I'm hoping that it will make more sense to me now, since the partial methylation cycle block may affect some of the biochemical parameters they measured,in addition to glutathione. And since these authors found somewhat similar abnormalities in a range of disorders, perhaps the paper will give clues as to whether partial methylation cycle block is involved in some of the other disorders they studied. I'll try to get another copy of it the next time I go to the medical library.
