Guest guest
Hey, Yep, we did make some progress last summer. Many people who communicate on this board contributed countless hours to making that trip to DC happen. Has much changed since then? Not really, other than the public is a little more aware. Why? Because there are some power intities that don't want you and your children treated. It would cost them money to acknolwedge you are sick. How are they controlling it? Here's how: " The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Adverse Human Health Effects from Mold in an Indoor Environment, Evidence Based Statement is: 1. a document of scant scientific foundation; 2.authored by expert defense witnesses; 3.legitimized by the inner circle of an influential medical association, whose members often times evaluate mold victims on behalf of insurers and employers; 4.and promoted by stakeholder industries for the purpose of financial gain at the expense of the lives of others. I know all those post I wrote are bit difficult to follow. It's hard to explain just how perverse this situation is. This is what you need to understand: The reason your doctor does not know how to treat you is because if they acknowledge how sick we are, then the financial losses in our courtrooms will greatly increase. Don't train the doctors and the victims can't prove they are sick in court. GlobalTox sued me for saying Kelman " altered his under oath statements " . Which he did. This is what they really want me to shut up about: There is an ending paragraph in the press release which I authored that states, " In 2003, with the involvement of the US Chamber of Commerce and ex-developer, U.S. Congressman (R-CA), the GlobalTox paper was disseminated to the real estate, mortgage and building industries' association. A version of the Manhattan Institute commissioned piece may also be found as a position statement on the website of the United States medical policy-writing body, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine " . If this is not a true statement, then why didn't they sue me for this? It is this ending paragraph that the principals of GlobalTox would prefer not be highly publicized. This, along with the fact that the ACOEM Statement is based on a premise current scientific evidence does not support; and the acceptance of the ACOEM Statement was forced through by an improperly biased and bypassed peer review process. Obviously, I have no intention of shuting up. Children's lives are being unnecessarily ruined so others can save precious money. No Sue, it's even more insidious than that. They know we're sick. They know the manner and materials of construction over the past 20 years or so have made us sick. They definately are not sticking their heads in the sand and hoping it will go away. They are working fast and furious to get these buildings cleaned up before the public fully understands what is making them sick. I want to say, there are many fine scientists, engineers and IAQ professionals working really hard to get the buildings safer. It's just the medical powers that be, who are paid advocates for stakeholder industries who are keeping the doctors uninformed in order to limit financial liability. I was at the Surgeon General's Workshop on Indoor Air. The whole thing was about cleaning up the buildings, changing materials and construction standards, increasing airflow while at the same time downplaying the illnesses resultant from the current construction standards promotion of rampant mold growth. They had hypersensitivity listed in their little hand out book, but no one addressed it. One doctor from Harvard stood up and said " For God Sakes, these are our Children! " It felt like there was a big ole Elephant sitting on that room. Two days, many presentation. NOT ONCE did I hear the word " fungal " mentioned. It's all about the MONEY. Guest guest
Hi to all, I would like to comment on a friend of mine Sharon Kramer. She has investigated this issue to help all of us. It is extremely complicated yet simple, it seems to me this involves Freedom of Speech. Will we be silenced? Sharon needs what ever support we can give her in this disgusting display of how " influence " plays such an important role in all of our lives. I joined Sharon along with many victims and activists to help bring this issue to Washington, DC. Many of us put in countless hours to make this happen and Sharon did an outstanding job. She is honest, trustworthy and committed. Sharon has gone above and beyond the call of duty, I appreciate what she is doing and hope that she can continue her quest with our help. Thank you Sharon, your friend,
Guest guest
Thanks for the info KC. That all happened before I found this group. I just read ( a tiny article) that Penna put together a task force to study mold and probably develop guidelines. I plan on making my phone call in the morning to our legislator to find out what it's all about. Elie
Guest guest
Re: mold subject in news I have noticed mold exposed as public health threat more and more in traditional news sources so the word it getting out. I think it is due to internet really. This will put pressure on changes on official level but to help the process along by doing whatever one can is best. [Norton AntiSpam] [] Re: # 14 WHAT THE ACOEM DOES NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW!!!!!!!... Elie, Many people went to Washington last year distributing informational packets to our legislators, met with some media.
