Guest guest
The public is increasingly aware of mold as a problem in the home, workplace and as it impacts health. This has been shown to be so in surveys. The media covers mold stories very often - if you do a Google Alert on mold, you will find about 10-20 stories daily in just the online news. This is up from about 5 daily last year at this time. No amount of information to the contrary will convince people that what they know is false. Better to correct the problems and prevent more - that is a better use of money in schools. Avoiding the problem doesn't work. Sharon, your posts make us all aware that there are many business interests that would have us believe mold is not a health threat. We have usually all experienced these in the course of being ill. We admire your activism. Because of your initial idea, if I am not incorrect, the events in Washington DC took place last year for Mycotoxin Disease Awareness Week. The impact of that idea was huge. We will not tolerate moldy buildings or being subjected to them. We will educate the public about these issues. Everyone on this board can help educate the public in whatever ways they find. Everyone on this board can help monitor their local schools to be sure they are healthy. Everyone on this board can contact media. Everyone on this board can support activism which is actually being a good citizen, for moldy schools, homes and workplaces are destroying our health and that is a national problem - and disgrace. This cannot be covered up. The public is now aware.
