Guest guest
This is a corrected link, the last one was not operable, apparently, to the story about the mold in Camp Pendleton and the coverup. The writer, Tom Calabrese, was a civilian housing inspector for the base. He had hundreds of families who needed help due to dire illness from living on base in the military housing there. He was fired for making it public, after failing to get help for the people by going through the channels. Now he is in a court battle with the government over it. His story is below, as well as his email. He wants people to write the new commander on base, see last part. Story found at: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/military/20050626-9999- 1mi26cala.html Tom's email is calabr5@... He is a former Marine. What a way to treat our current and former military! This man is a hero, and standing alone. We need to stand with him. -------------- From Tom to me today, with permission to pass it on... Sue B --------- <<This was second appearance at San Diego Federal Court concerning my litigation against Camp Pendleton. Camp Pendleton filed a Motion to Dismiss one of cases. I opposed that Motion and so far the Court has upheld my Motion. Camp Pendleton then filed a Motion to combine both my cases 1) Violation of my civil rights 2) Wrongful Termination. I opposed that Motion and I was informed by the Court Clerk that I definitely won that Motion. They will be kept separate...That is great news! The U.S. Attorney is required by law to filed his answer to my complaint that Camp Pendleton deliberately tried to endanger my life as a reprisal for reporting criminal misconduct in base housing. I talked to the Court Clerk afterwards and he told me that my Judge firmly believes in the law and I will get a fair hearing. I believed him. I can't begin to express how I felt when someone in the government actually told me that the law matters. When I got home I called the military lawyer on Camp Pendleton who opposed the investigations of my EEO complaints. The same Marine who told me that nobody did anything wrong on base. I told him to make sure that he told the U.S. Attorney and the Federal Judge that...I also made it a point to tell him that if Camp Pendleton wasn't so hell bent on obstructing investigations I would be in federal court. I told him he had nobody to blame but himself if things get messy. Camp Pendleton is not above the law. I'll keep you posted on further developments.>> Tom ------------ Tom's earlier request, as a reminder, if you feel like writing or can pass this on to someone who will: <<To all who received the San Diego Union Tribune article about Camp Pendleton base housing. Please voice your concerns about Marines and their families in base housing. Demand that Camp Pendleton leadership conduct a thorough and impartial investigation concerning the allegations in the article. Public awareness is essential to changing things and protecting our military. Commanding General, Camp Pendleton Building 1160 Camp Pendleton, Ca 92055-5000>> Thanks Tom Calabrese
