Guest guest
Dear Moderator, The note from Padmaja (General Secretary PWN+) in which she narrated the protest of a mother and the details of how a daughter with HIV/AIDS was exposed, without her consent, by a celebrity media coverage was very depressing and disturbing. It is very hard to believe that someone as sensitive to the needs of PLWH/A as Dr Suniti , someone who has taken the lead in defining how the public and media should respond to HIV/AIDS, could have made such an insensitive decision and also violated the confidentiality of her patient/doctor relationship. I sincerely hope that Dr. takes the time to write to the readers of various HIV/AIDS forums, who view YRG as a pioneering institution in HIV/AIDS care in India, to clarify the issue. Guest guest
Dear Moderator: What is more shocking to me is that someone as sensitive to the needs of PLWH/A as Dr. Suniti , has not yet responded to clarify their side of the story. I feel that YRG had enough time to respond. Their silence leads me to guess the real attitude of Dr. Suniti and YRG to PLWH/A. This is so very disturbing to see from a person who is looked up as a trend setter. If no actions are seen from the side of YRG & Dr. Suniti, we as a community of organisations, Individuals, and Network of PLWHAs working in the field of HIV/AIDS, much boycott the said organisation. Further, we must take them to court and file for damages. I sincerely hope that Dr. Suniti would think through again, and take time to respond as soon as possible to clarify the issue. I join in condemnation of this act of breach of confidentiality and Trust. In Solidarity, Lall E-mail: jol@...
