Guest guest
I WAS ON MASSIVE DOSES OF STEROIDS, JANICE--DECADRON, & SOLU MEDROL......IV. THE STEROIDS TOOK DOWN THE SWELLING/INFLAMMATION AROUND MY SPINAL CORD, BUT THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THE DEMYELINATION....AT LEAST, NOT YET. VICTORIA [] Re: Please clarify what your workplace was. Janice, I didn't write ACS but I did mention I took some medicine that suppressed the immune system. There are lots of medicines that do this. You have to read the package inserts but in my case it was an antidepressant Remeron. It doesn't suppress the immune system of everyone who takes it. It is a negative side affect for some people so the package insert says. It hadn't read the package insert, they are getting soooooooooooo long to read. It said: If you develope flu- like symptoms, a sore throat any/or mucous membrane ulcerations, you are supposed to go off of it right away as it can be a sign of developing 'aggranulosis', white is no white blood cells. I thought I had the flu and took off from work and went to bed and started taking vitamin C and zinc, except next day I was worse (since I was still taking the Remeron). Finally I looked through insert because antidepressants can also cause dry and irritated throat and there it was. I stopped taking it and called the doctor and asked him to put me back on my old medicine which I didn't want to go off of in the first place. He said I shouldn't worry about it, it was better for me than the benzo I was taking. He said he would write a Rx for a much lower dose and I should try that. I was able to sleep on that. My sore throat wasn't gone but it was down to mildly irritated. I stayed on the medicine for almost a year. Then I developed digestive problems. I went to my GI doctor who did an endoscopy and he said I had severe gastritis or ulcerations of my stomach lining. He did an H Pylori test on me that usually cause this and it was negative. So I went remembered that lower white blood cells caused by Remeron in a few people can cause mucuous membrane ulcerations so I went off of it again permanently. I asked my doctor for my old Rx back and he still argued for the Remeron, leaving the room to look up some information on it and coming back and the dumby saying, " I wouldn't worry about it, it only has to do with your white blood cells " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, well I have insomnia, that's all I need is to have no or suppressed white blood cells. What a stupid remark. " It's only those things that protect you from EVERY disease known to man, I wouldn't worry about it " . Doctor's don't have a clue anymore about anything. They just apparently learned how to use their prescription pad and that is it. That was a year ago last January and I have been sick all year from multiple causes. Noone took a bloodtest at the time of trouble so I have no way to prove it gave me aggranulosis except for the ulcerated stomach and the health problems that followed or I would sue. I didn't want to change medicine in the first place. I had taken benzos for almost 20 years for my very bad insomnia problem without any side effect and without addiction as taking me off them as he did gave me no withdrawal. Some doctors are just negative about them since they CAN cause addiction but afterall you would think a patient whose hasn't developed a problem in 20 years, doesn't need to be changed. Anyway, that is medicine I said caused a suppression of my immune system if you are referring to me. The sore throat it gave me I still have today, over a year later. It gave me sore throat 24/7, a test for Epstein Barr virus is very high and other things. It appears to have given me CFS amoung other things. So now I have same restless sleep I've had most of my life and on top of that now CFS (sick too). This experience and others have finally put the nail in the coffin for me and traditional doctors. I avoid them like the plague. The only time I go to them is when I want to be tested and many times I leave their office without getting that, just a waste of my time, so I've paid for testing myself this past year many times. --- In , Janice Ashby <oneplanet4life@y...> wrote > Can you do me a favor? > I'am trying to speedread through my mail often, > because I get 23 messages a day, but I'd really like > to know what ACS stands for, and what the medicine was > that suppresses 's, or 's immune > system. > > Thanks, Janice. > > ______________________________________________________________________ > Post your free ad now! http://personals..ca FAIR USE NOTICE: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
