Hi all

I had high levels of mercury and arsenic and I chelated for 2 years. Then I

developed MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities). After the mercury exposure

in ~'96, I also had a toxic fumes exposure in '98 at a Mexican garbage dump

fire, plus I live close enough to the WTC to have experienced very bad air

quality in the months following 9/11. In 4/03 there was a big flood in the

apt above me and the ceiling came down and had to be rebuilt. If I remember

correctly, it took 2 weeks for them to repair the ceiling, as they were

waiting for it to dry. Everything looked good; no evidence of mold. But my

MCS also got progressively worse around this time....

Now my closets smell very musty to me. I had a mold tester come in 2 weeks

ago and I have not gotten the actual report but he told me over the phone

that it tested " excellent " . I have very low levels of spores. He did mention

that several types of mold showed up, including Aspergillus, but at very low

levels that shouldn't affect me. He knows I have MCS.

I tested positive on Dr Shoemaker's VCS test, but who knows, that could be

from solvents. I am at a loss as to whether I should go on his protocol or

not, as I have no idea if I was ever exposed to toxic mold. I know I have

tested as having an allergy to Aspergillus. And I am clearly mold sensitive.

When I was in Oregon last year, I would have breathing problems in the moldy

cabins and couldn't sleep in them. I could walk into a place and immediately

know there was a mold problem, and have to walk right out.

I am ready to make the trip to land and spend a chunk of my precious

life savings on Dr Shoemaker and his tests and treatment, but I don't want

to do it foolishly. I have not worked in 8 months due to my MCS and my

resources are so limited. Plus, it is extremely difficult for me to travel

due to my MCS and extensive food allergies. Any suggestions appreciated.
