Guest guest
From what I have read, the air passes to fast and in too large a quantity for UV lights to be of any use. As I have posted before, I have come to the conclusion that trying to keep mold and other pollutants from blowing around with the amount of air blowing with a heat pump system to be impossible. In my new house I am going totally ductless. Thus ends the moldy duct problem that will eventually happen to all thoses people having heat pumps in the south. Radient ceiling panels are very inexpensive, and a mini-split duct air conditioning system is the way to go. This summer, 4 out of 5 places I go with central air are impossible for me to stay 5 min. --- In , " Barbra BW " <bbw@f...> wrote: > I'm in a hurry so didn't read your whole post but do you think a UV light > over your coils would help situation? > ----- Original Message ----- > From: " fletch_82000 " <fletch_8@h...> >

Guest guest
google for mini-split duct air conditioning and you will find many sites. I have heard that Sears does a good job of it. They are used mostly to retrofit houses that cannot squeeze ducts in, and are much more popular in the East. With it you have a main unit outside, like a regular AC, but instead of pumping the cold air, they pump the refrigerant in a small, insulated tube to units that sit at the top of the wall, you can control the level of coolness in each area seperatly if you choose. I have not met yet with the HVAC man, but in general one outside unit can service 3 inside units, they are quieter than window units, but not as quiet as central. a good filter can be put on them. they can also come with a gently heat also. My friend down the street has it and he is very happy with his set up. > > Radient ceiling > panels are very inexpensive, and a mini-split duct air conditioning > system is the way to go. > > * Would you please give a brief description or reference for the mini-split duct air conditioning system.
