Guest guest
OK, that's food for thought -candex works for yeast - does biocidin attack clostridia? How often should I have these tests redone for the presence of yeast and clostridia? For me, the stools have got steadily worse while he continues to make gains in all other areas - weird, isn't it? Guest guest
I'd do it myself through Doctor's Data rather than Great Smokies, which I used to worship (sad isn't it) but has gone downhill. Their reports now are MUCH briefer. Apparently the head of Great Smokies went over to DD. Just a thought. Guest guest
Hi Joe, A stool sample is the usual way to check for parasites. The test is called an “O and P” – ova (eggs) and parasites – where the stool sample is carefully looked at through a microscope. That’s probably what they did with your stool sample, but you can ask. And parasites don’t always show up on the O and P test. As for herbal treatments – be sure to deal with someone who knows what they’re doing! You don’t want to mess up your gut!! Some herbal treatments include garlic and black walnut tincture. There’s a whole web page at http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/conditionsitoq/a/Parasites.htm (I’m not saying it’s accurate, but it’s there!) My doc also used a strong antibiotic that stays in your intestinal tract. It’s called humatin (paromomycin.) It is a prescription drug; he liked it because it doesn’t go through your whole body. Whatever you do, be sure the people you’re asking for help know what they’re doing!! Guest guest
JoeYour symptoms can also be caused by diet choices. When I eat too many carbs, I tend to have your symptoms. Eating more fruit (specially oranges for me), greek style yogurt, lean meats, and taking digestive enzymes help me rebalance my gut.Dr Kaiser is a big believer that parasites have a lot of influence on our health. People dispute this statement. This can be from parasites, or more commonly, as a side effect from medications. I'd strongly suggest that you discuss this with your doctor. It will be easy to decide if you have parasites after a stool examination by a laboratory. In the meantime, I'd suggest avoiding uncooked leafy vegetables, especially salads. Add cheeses, dairy, and applesauce to your diet. See if that helps.JB

Guest guest
I have read that if patient is on supplements or other meds, Vermox can cause side effects. Problems with some AEDs as well. It sounds like your son had a mega purge from his colon.. and if he already has gastro issues, I wonder if this has affected the way his body can assimilate and uptake nutrients.. There are some other ways to treat worms, like lots of garlic, raw pumpkin seeds etc, or the approach you have used with your younger child. The Vermox has a lot of chemicals in its formulation.. which may simply be too much for your son. Tracey Are you sure it's okay (safe) to give this to such a young child? Guest guest
Hmm I'm wondering about parasite cleanse also, bear in mind I have a whopping great 13 yr old compared to your little one. We had a big purge like you but now we have constipation and bum picking again so I'm thinking do we have a case of what doesn't kill them makes them stronger? Not sure where to go now with parasite treatment, also am I right in thinking black walnut is high oxalate? If so this could be where Iv'e gone wrong, he is not a happy bunny, appears how he does when oxalates are a problem + constipation+digging. Digging is a real parasite red flag to us.
