Guest guest
Dear friends, Parivartan, a Gujarat-based NGO observed its seventh World AIDS Day this year. We have been engaged in AIDS prevention campaign more than seven years now. Besides conducting different activities to accomplish our objectives, we encourage youths and adolescents to prepare and present skits, songs and dance sequence and poems on the issues related to HIV/AIDS. Massages conveyed through this media usually emphasised on how HIV spreads. This year we held a district level poster competition and displayed them in the exhibition on the AIDS Day. Students, teachers and some women from the villages participated in the proceedings. Skits, role play, dance and self composed poems - all were presented before the audience. One important development we noticed this time. In the past the presentations mainly focussed on the modes that spread HIV. This year the presentations not only talked about the needs of the awareness generation, but also the care and support for the positive people. Even the self composed poems of the teachers also conveyed the same message. This we consider as a significant development.
