Guest guest
Hi all, As many of us have gut issues, I wanted to pass along a probiotic that is more effective on me than others. The company is Lifestar, www.lifestar.com. Their probiotic is called Protec. It contains more different species of good gut bacteria than other products I've seen plus enzymes and other ingredients to carry the bacteria and help it multiply. I also take their glutathione precurser, Glutathene. I have no interest at all in this company and nothing to gain if their sales increase. My local MD recommended them to me and I was quite surprised when Protec made a noticable improvement in my BMs. To say I had stubborn constipation until recently, is an understatement. My doc was impressed with them because they are particular in their processing methods using low temperatures and creating clean products. Reading Dr. Borody's article in New Science magazine, " Same Poop, Different Gut " and the info on oxalates, led me to do the low oxalate diet and human probiotics simultaneously. That helped my large intestine flora balance considerably. I think what Protec does is help balance my small intestine as it is taken orally. Does anyone else have comments or a probiotic they recommend that contains more than the typical 2-3 bacteria species? Thanks. Kay PS Protec is a little pricey but so are the best probiotics at the healthfood store. At least it works, for me anyway. Also should mention that since I'm on a protocol to breakdown biofilm whose structure is largly made from magnesium, I'm off magnesium. Magnesium used to be what handled my constipation, so finding ways to restore gut health has been really important.
