Guest guest
I collapsed with CFS in 2000. It took me 2 years to figure out what was going on, or to put a name to it. Then it took another 6 years of trying to fix it, with little info, until as a 'last' resort we did IV vitamins, minerals and amino acids. I realize there are many 'causes' of CFS. However, I continue to find that there are 'natural' causes of the failings. The IVs provifded a new foundation for building health. There was noticable improvement after the IVs but it has taken another 4 years to get to where I can work at an acceptable level. Recently, I started HCL, hydrochloric acid. It was one of MANY hits, and sometimes misses, I have trid over the years. After taking ONE TABLET, ALL of my wheat allergies symptoms went away. I am still allergic (I believe, as a blood test shows an allergic reaction going on strong because I 'cheat'), but all the symptoms are gone- bloating, diahrrhea and severe depression after cheating. Now, I have started on a comprehensive probiotic from the developer of the GAPS diet. After a fair amount of stress the past few weeks I am not fading as before. I will start the actual diet soon as I can get supplies in an attempt to alleviate the continous brain fog I still have. While I am able to do a fair amount of work that is just physical, my mental/cognitive abilities are still scarily weak. I am sharing this info now because in reading about methylation issues I remember reading the 'true' explanation in the GAPS diet book I just read over the weekend. It makes COMPLETE sense that there is a specific failing somewhere in the whole body system for there to be a problem. I tried targeting the problems I found throughout the years through testing- irregular levels of minerals, vitamins (malnutrition), amino acids, etc. It did not help. Now I know it is because my gut was compromised and could not absorb appropriately. Hippocrates said, " all disease starts in the gut " . It does not make sense until one reads on it, and then it makes perfect sense when one understands the necessary balance the gut needs to assist life, and is a major part of the immunity system. The division of medicine has us chasing too many roads to find the cure, the reason for CFS as well as all other autoimmune diseases. The GAPS diet explains it. I will report any and all progress. anne
