I love lemon pepper on it :) and add the chicken and a veggie :)

-- Re: Brown Rice

I really enjoy brown rice a whole lot more with some salsa in it. Throw in

some fajita seasoned chicken and broccoli and a perfectly yummy and filling

meal!

This sounds weird but I found I really enjoyed brown rice with

scrambled eggs. I bake the brown rice with some chicken broth. Then

put in the fridge. I take some veggies: tomatoes, mushrooms,

zucchini, etc. and stir fry real quick. Then I add eggs and scramble

and then add the rice last.

Also chicken and brown rice is a favorite at my house and so simple!

I also use the chicken broth for flavor and sometimes add a seasoning

package like Three Cheese Chicken (from Safeway). Bake with chicken

at 425 for 25 minutes or so.

Thanks everyone for the rice ideas. Food shopping tomorrow (fun,

fun) so I can get the things I don't have yet, then I'll let you know

how my rice recipes go!

Kristi, ask Santa to bring you a ZOJIRUSHI RICE COOKER for Christmas and you

will never be

capable of making bad rice again! Perfect every time, one of the best

investments we've ever

made.

It also has an interior stainless steel steaming basket for greens which you can

add to the rice

when you serve it. Cool! We also cook practically EVERYTHING in it, great for

puddings and

custards, plus we use it for a snazzy CROCK POT. The cooking pot comes out for

cleaning,

refrigerating, or serving.

Kristi,

Was it the soaked rice recipe or the regular brown rice? I found that the

soaked recipe is mushier. But brown rice in general is a little mushier than

white. I think I have a (non-soaking) recipe for brown basmati that might be

pretty decent. I'll try to find it and post it. If I forget, remind me later

if you want.

Yes it was the soaking brown rice recipie that I used. I wanted a

non mushy rice to be used in taco/buritos.
