Guest guest
There aren't any. I would never go to the Fibro and Fatigue Center that moved out of Pittsburgh to Kittanning. Lo and behold they have another doctor there since Dr. Pierotti caused MY heart attack in January of 2008. ( And yes this is based on other CFS/ME doctors confirming that fact,as well as a cardiologist) That is 3 changes of doctors in 4 years. That must tell you that there is something wrong with that chain, even though they are trying. But because they are business based, they lose their focus. Money becomes more important than the patient. If I were you, I would follow this and other support groups and get a good doctor that is willing to work with you. You will save thousands and be further ahead .....because what works for one does not necessarily work for another. Sometimes your intuitive body will lead you to what you need... Kathleen m.e. doctors near pittsburgh, pa  does anyone know of a doctor that treats m.e. anywhere within a few hour drive of pittsburgh, pa?? thanks

Guest guest
Kathleen, Would you mind explaining what was done that caused the heart attack? I am always on the lookout for heart-related information, since I have not the most robust heart. Thanks, Ellen There aren't any. Guest guest
I hope Kathleen gives you the link to her story------it is long and detailed. I progressed extensively while patient at the Atlanta FFC. I too ran into an MD who was following script, causing terrible symptoms. I changed doctors within the clinic, and went on to progress. All that said--------Dr. Teitlebaum, the doctor who wrote the protocol for FFC's is now taking new patients. I am going to " talk " to him in a couple of weeks for a consult. I don't think he could lead you wrong. It is costly----but well worth consulting with one of the more internationally known CFS MDs. Read his book---From Fatigued to Fantastic. Yes many break throughs are out there every day---------but to endure a NEW protocol it's best to get stable, which is what the SHINE protocol does. Dr. T's office is in land----www.endfatigue.com. New patients and consults are done by phone or SKYPING, as he lives in Hawaii. He just came out of semi retirement. God Bless, Sara > > > > There aren't any. Guest guest
Much hinges on whether or not you can afford it, but my advice would be to go to one of the well-regarded experts, even if you have to travel to see them. I became a patient of Dr Klimas in Miami a year and a half ago. My first visit was in person, my several subsequent appointments were by phone. I plan to see her in person again this coming summer. In retrospect, I wish I had started with her (or some other genuine expert) several years earlier, rather than trying to find someone in my local area who understood this illness. Of course, I have a local family medicine doctor, who takes care of any other health issues I might have. But I spent at least 3 years in an ultimately unfruitful search for a local specialist, and would rather have spent that time with a non-local expert.
