Guest guest
Moderator, hi, trim posts? what's that mean? do you mean don't write a lot in a msg? thanks =) {Moderator: No, it does not mean that. For me it was potassium loss. I know that depleted, can't move all of a sudden after the bathroom feeling- I had that a LONG time & it got worse over time. I've wondered if it has to do with weakening my body. Hypokalemic periodic paralysis, a mild form of that, was what I finally figured out. I learned we lose a lot of fluids even if not peeing & that electrolytes & minerals or whatever can go straight out. If you get night cramps, which I do occasionally, those can be due to low potassium. I read ppl are supp. to get like 4500-4700mg potassium per day but that Americans get 1/2 that if they're lucky, & most of that in processed foods. I count now daily, & found out coconut water has like 880mg for a tiny container of it- no sugar, etc- just straight coconut water. OJ not from concentrate, & if in a pinch while out, I grab Vitamin Water- red, it's the REVIVE flavor. Gatorade also brings me back to lie if low. A doc told me I run low on potassium naturally & need to be very careful when I get the flu, throw up, etc., as it can be life-threatening, esp. if you're super-thin like me. The body doesn't store potassium. One last thing: some say taking potassium supps is dangerous; has to do with electrical signals to the heart & that can backfire if your blood sugar isn't high enough. Feel free to email me if you need more info. > > Hi- > > I am moving towards the GAPS diet because my candida is never gonna go away and recently, I've introduced Grapefruit Seed Extract and Biotin along with other herbs and meds for Candida including Candida Cleanse by NOW and Nystatin. Guest guest
Yes, Sue, thanks, I had this done and have no good bacteria in the gut. I have very bad dysbiosis and taking a bunch of probiotics doesn't help. I am trying to drastically change my diet, but doing slowly, because I think my gut is reacting to it.  perhaps you can get the GI complete profile from Metametrix. it will tell you whats going on in your gut. it's not cheap, though. you send them stool sample.  http://www.metametrix.com/test-menu/profiles/gastrointestinal-function/dna-stool\ -analysis-gi-effects  with CFS, the gut flora gets all fked up. Guest guest
I have this too on a off, just as with breathing. It becomes exhausting just to breathe, not being breathless. Each time I had/have a bowel movement, it would leave exhausted, I would feel faint, and hardly able to stand up. I think it has to do with the autonomic nervous system, adrenals etc... It becomes stressful to the body at a certain point. Likewise, I had horrid rectal sphincter spasms, lasting for hours, sweating with pain. Same with intestines, spams and weird, pains. Its functional, and there are no tests for this, diagnosis is based on symptoms. > > perhaps you can get the GI complete profile from Metametrix. it will tell you whats going on in your gut. it's not cheap, though. you send them stool sample. > Â > http://www.metametrix.com/test-menu/profiles/gastrointestinal-function/dna-stool\ -analysis-gi-effects > Â > with CFS, the gut flora gets all fked up. >
Guest guest
Agreed about supplementing for potassium. I am allergic to coconut oil, found dates to contain high amount, I am eating daily. This has been very helpful with arrythmias. Also taking concentrace, a drop at a time, sometimes allergic sometimes not. I am looking at Dr Morten's plant derived minerals. Have been able to tolerate ox tail broth for the last two days, found it very helpful too. Nettle contains high amount of minerals, but am allergic to this too. SIGH. Guest guest
hi nancy. i think there is something more you can do to balance the gut. you should consult with a specialist....like dr. galland in NYC or something. or at least post it on the phoenix rising message boards so someone can comment. ..a lot of those people have seen a lot of specialists.. ________________________________ From: Kaimowitz <nanjkay@...> " " < > Sent: Saturday, May 5, 2012 7:03:29 AM Subject: Re: Get weak for hours after bowel movements  Yes, Sue, thanks, I had this done and have no good bacteria in the gut. Guest guest
Wow, I had almost forgotten the rectal pain! I used to periodically get that too - was the most intense pain I've ever had. Thought for sure that something was terribly wrong, but my colonoscopy only showed the diverticulosis. Hummmm- interesting. > > > I > Likewise, I had horrid rectal sphincter spasms, lasting for hours, > sweating with pain. Guest guest
2 thoughts Is it a drop in blood pressure? do you have a BP cuff to check? Is it a muscle spasm problem? Can you try muscle relaxers to see if it makes a difference?

Guest guest
It's called proctalgia fugax see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proctalgia_fugax I'd take this article with more than a grain of salt however, it is more than a little simplistic. Towards the end of the article she lists some supplements that may help. http://www.thehumansideoflyme.net/viewarticle.php?aid=62 & PHPSESSID=f37d4\ 0d01a4d4eac494970585bf9a869 Best,
Guest guest
Hi I have been drinking coconut milk. I will look up Dr. Mortens plant derived minerals too. Thanks. Should nettles be used as a supplement, an herb or fresh? I've heard great things about them too. I do know that until my stomach calms down, I am not gonna absorb what I need to absorb.
