I am SO sorry for your stress and your ill cat. We took care of hubby's

father for three years and it has taken us four years to get over the

stress of being caretakers and doing our jobs and home life. Then our

beloved cat got diabetes and it was devastating to take her to be put to

sleep even though she was 16 and very ill. I do believe the stresses

affect us tremendously. Praying for you.

My sympathies about your cat, too. I've been through that many times,

and it always is painful. But it's the kindest thing you can do for the

animal you love.

Dear ,

I lost one cat today and I still feel dizzy at 8 pm. I am about to have my

evening meal and somehow end this day by watching a movie on my computer. Before

I got so ill with the CFS, when I had a lot of stress, I would either study

which would keep my mind occupied, take a long walk to get the stress hormones

out of my body, or get busy with cleaning, which can give us the feeling that at

least we have a semblance of control over our lives. Now all of those things are

pretty limited. I cannot study that much because my brain gets exhausted

quickly, long walks are rare and only when I really feel well and cleaning is

done in little bits so that I am not too tired afterwards.

I have about 35 cats at home along with 3 dogs. All of the animals, except for

one cat, were unwanted and abandoned. A lot of work goes into taking care of the

animals, but my vet has told me that if I did not have the cats, I would be

lying in bed, thinking about myself and being depressed about why I have CFS and

why I can't be a musician because of the illness.
