Guest guest
does anyone know a lab that does the function test? Quest and other local labs do only the NK count test, not the function. Weird, as Quest I know used to do it. Thanks, Jim
Guest guest
Jim, Can I ask what you would be looking for with this test? Would this give info that would lead to a certain treatment or is it just for information purposes. My NK cell count is low and that is why I am asking. Thanks. Guest guest
hi jim..make sure you call and find out the city where the test is done at focus..best to call focus. on the requisition, there is a space where you can write stuff...put " sent to focus diagnostics, the city, natural killer functional assay, FC, 20595 " . i swear they will find some way to mess it up otherwise. its happened to me twice. also, tell them it has to reach focus the next morning. good luck! xoxox ________________________________ From: Jim <jims111@...> Sent: Saturday, June 2, 2012 11:31:56 AM Subject: Re: NK Function Test  deb, i'm getting it tested as i will be trying Gc MAF. sue, thanks! i happened to try again and the new person said they can send it out to that lab. and yeah, anything unusual i always call ahead to set things up. not all lab folk are on the ball. jim

Guest guest
Question: I just got this test done at Quest in the state of MA. but did not write " Focus " on the requisition form. So where will the test be done then, and will it be inaccurate? Guest guest
its not that it will be inaccurate....but they might do another test, where they enumerate the lymphocytes...so you might just get the number of NK cells and not the function....but maybe you got a phlebotomist who knew what she/he was doing and hopefully that wont happen. you can call customer service and ask which test they did... ________________________________ From: rr22rr44 <rr22rr44@...> Sent: Tuesday, June 5, 2012 9:34:17 AM Subject: Re: NK Function Test  Question: I just got this test done at Quest in the state of MA. but did not write " Focus " on the requisition form.
