PORTLAND, Maine -- Mold has forced the transfer of 37 inmates at the

Cumberland County Community Corrections Facility.

The inmates were transferred to the main jail Wednesday after the

extensive mold growth raised health concerns.

The mold was found in the walls of the second floor of the building.

Jail officials said a rotting waste water line either caused or

aggravated the problem.

Work has been scheduled to remove the mold.

Brace has full details tonight on News 8 WMTW at 6.
