Guest guest
Hi Chris: I went through the same. My heart would go up to 250 bpm, daily, or beat from my base line of 60 to 120 for many weeks, 24/7 I felt wired, as if zapped in a socket, weak, exhausted. It was found I had SVT, PVCs and various findings on EKGs which no doctors could interpret. Poor R-Wave progression would make me very ill, yet, doctors are not sure what this means. Best to avoid hot showers, spicy foods, alcohol, eat small meals, no ice cream or cold drinks, and of course all stimulants. I was so wired, that I could not listen to music, watch TV, anything would set the heart off, the sound of police or ambulance sirens, sudden noise etc.. I requested the doctors test my catecholamines (by the way bananas and some other fruits/foods can increase cats), and it showed wild rushes of adrenaline, dopamine etc.. Those were sky high. Doctors thought I may have a pneumochromatosis, which I didn't. Finally, I met a neurologist who asked me if ever took Mefloquine, or an Fluoroquinolone antibiotic, or had anesthetics. Indeed, I had. Further research led me to a group of people who suffered same symptoms as CFS, taken either Mefloqine, or Fluoroquinolone antiobitics, local anesthetics or other meds which are known to alter cardiac electrical conductivity. Lets not forget that all meds can and do cause some type of mito dysfunction. The ones at the top of the list, are psychotropics, antibiotics, and beta blockers. Needless to say, I refused Beta Blockers, and other anti arrythmic meds, and those symptoms went away. Strangely, the sudden rush, palpitations, drop or rise in BP, started again yesterday. I am growing my own lemon verbena, on my balcony. I was able to tolerate an infusion with leaves yesterday, and will repeat tomorrow to see if this helps. Its very complex, and could be attritubed to a whole range of systems, including the vagus nerve. Stimualting a bowel movement, or rubbing on eyes closed, etc.. can stop the palpitations, but then, it starts again. I don't like doing it. I prefer to do some type of Qi Gong breathing, if I can. Or just let it ride. Keep us posted, and know that this is not dangerous. > > Hi all. Been in ER twice for 3 days in a row. I luckily didnt have to go back today, but fingers crossed as ive become worse than ever before. I hope to be able to get to sydney to a major hospital but not sure i'll even survive the trip. So dreadfully weak, they just keep sending me home from ER. See my post including a video on it. I am scared as hell and so over it all > > http://cfsjourney.org/heart > > ~Chris. >
Guest guest
Hi Have set things in motion behind the scenes, hope help comes soon. Magnesium can calm the heart down. Try to rest and breathe deeply and slowly which also calms the heart. Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev > > Hi all. Been in ER twice for 3 days in a row. Guest guest
hi I hope you can see this post and respond. Please remind me of your diagnoses - don't you have s - aren't you often in Adrenal Crisis? If so, please, please join an s Forum. ME/CFIDS is a diagnosis of exclusion and if you have s - then you are not considered to have ME/CFIDS. That means you need help from a completely different set of doctors and fellow patients. Very few of us here have s to the extent that you do (if memory serves), so we may not directing you to the proper help or giving you ideas that can save your life. I just want to make sure you are getting the help you need. If you have 's, magnesium, deep breathing, or any of the suggestions you have gotten thus far will not help you. And if you are focused on those things and not getting the help you need - it could put you in Adrenal Crisis. Please let us know how you are doing. I know it is difficult but keep searching for the right doc. Marti > > Hi all. Been in ER twice for 3 days in a row. Guest guest
Hi I also have heart issues: arrhythmias, weakness, etc. I have found the TCM herb dan shen (salvia miltiorrhiza) quite helpful, and I also take hawthorn, another common heart herb. Although I'm pretty sensitive, I don't have any negative effects from these two. Maybe they could give you some relief. Ellen Worse than ever, now heart arrhythmias. ER. Hi all.
