Guest guest
Do you think LDN helps with leaky gut at all? I tried it for a year, it helped with mood. I don't remember if it helped with systemic inflammation. I'd be willing to try it again, if it would calm down my tummy. ________________________________ From: marti_zavala <marti_zavala@...> Sent: Monday, June 18, 2012 3:15 PM Subject: Re: Low Dose Naltrexone  If you search the archives, you will find how other get it. you are wasting your time if you expect to go to a mainstream doc of any kind for a prescription. Possibly an integrative doc in private practice. or try http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/. I buy mine from overseas without a script and I pay about $16 for a 3 month supply plus $25 shipping. I buy much more from them and several months at a time. I use a pay-as-you-go debit card from the grocery store so no bank info is used in the transaction. I have been doing this for 3 or 4 years now. Marti > > The problem with LDN is finding someone who will prescribe it. > > > >
Guest guest
Hi,  Both gluten and dairy can contribute towards inflammation. LDN is an opioid antagonist and sometimes the opioid peptides found in gluten and dairy can interfere with the best response to LDN. On the other hand, some people with food allergies report that their allergies disappeared after being on LDN for a long time. I would suggest eliminating at least gluten for awhile and see how you feel. Dr.Mccandless has a good thread on LDN Proboards - " LDN is Not a Stand Alone Treatment " :  http://ldn.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=links & action=display & thread=1483  I had been gluten free prior to starting LDN, but later went dairy free when my first prescription of LDN was compounded with lactose. I experienced an upset stomach, which disappeared when the filler was changed.  I had a celiac panel test done and it was negative - however, I am IgA deficient which can throw off the celiac disease test. But I am definitely gluten " sensitive " .   From the University of land Center for Celiac Research:   What are the symptoms of Celiac Disease? Symptoms of celiac disease include diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, abdominal pain, chronic fatigue, weakness, malnutrition, and other gastrointestinal problems. In children, the symptoms may include failure to thrive (an inability to grow and put on weight), irritability, an inability to concentrate, diarrhea and bloating. Further, people affected by celiac disease may experience extra intestinal symptoms that involve many systems and organs including bones (osteoporosis, arthritis, and joint pain), blood (anemia and bleeding), reproductive system (infertility and reoccurring abortion), nervous system (chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, dementia), and behavioral changes.  What are the symptoms of gluten sensitivity?  Just as in celiac disease, gluten sensitivity can affect all body systems and generate a wide variety of symptoms. Gastrointestinal symptoms can include diarrhea, bloating, cramping, abdominal pain and constipation. Behavioral symptoms can include “foggy mind,†depression and ADHD-like behavior. Other symptoms include anemia, joint pain, osteoporosis, and leg numbness.  http://www.celiaccenter.org/   Hope this helps!  Nola Chris   http://nolahepper.blogspot.com/2009/11/hepatitis-c-protocol-with-low-dose.html
Guest guest
I'm already gluten free and mostly dairy free and free of a million other foods as well but thank you. I guess I'm just going to give it a try again. Maybe it will help with my chemical sensitivies??  Kaimowitz Script Supervisor & Instructor 917-622-4460 ________________________________ From: " smalk50@...
