Guest guest
Thanks, Chardale. I have a couple of questions. I've been upping my probiotics and I'm taking something by NOW called Acid Reducer plus Enzymes - it's a combo of calcium carbonate and digestive enzymes. It seems to be helping. But if what Rich said is true, and it's actually low stomach acid that is the problem, how does Prilosec help? Does lowering the acid help the probiotics and colostrum take better hold? More questions: I have dairy issues as well. Where can I find the Capra goat colostrum? And were you saying that it takes 6 weeks for the probiotics/colostrum to kick in? How much of the probiotics and colostrum do you take and how often? Thanks again! > > hi , mine is a little different but some similarities. I was getting nauseous and having gut pain after eating and having heartburn. I did two things that are handling it. The nausea is caused by leaky gut syndrome which I treat by taking bovine colostrum and a good quality refrigerated probiotic. I just found I have dairy allergy so will be switching to goat colostrum. For the heartburn I take 50 mg of Prilosec twice a day. It takes about 6 weeks for the colostrum/probiotics to get the guy situation settled if I stop taking them for awhile. I had terrible IBS before and don't have any issues at all if I stay on it. Synertek is the brand if bovine colostrum and I use Jarrow probiotic. I'll be getting Capra goat colostrum now. > > Peace be with you and all that jazz, > > Chardale Irvine > > On Jul 20, 2012, at > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi , I'm not really sure what the Prilosec is doing or how but I know it works for me. I've read some things about Prilosec that concern me so would eventually like to find a natural supplement to replace it but I just have to get through this herpes in my lungs flare before I try that. If you get any insight I'd love to hear it. The goat colostrum I've ordered is at www.mtcapra.com. It costs $60 for two months. I take the recommended dose of 1/4 tsp twice a day. From what I've read the powdered kind gets absorbed better than the capsules or pills. The bovine colostrum is at www.synertek.com and is the same price and dosage. And yes it takes me about six weeks to get over an IBS flare if I've gone off the stuff which I have done periodically because it's pricey. I'll usually get a year of freedom without it then I have to go back on it. Guest guest
 Thank you for all the suggestions - I'm saving them. That first answer below seems to answer my original question. BTW - I did the baking soda test and I burped once, in less than a minute. Now I'm all confused!! ________________________________ From: rr22rr44 <rr22rr44@...> Sent: Saturday, July 21, 2012 10:36 AM Subject: Re: Connection between methylation and GERD/Chardale >If stomach acid is low, try any of these suggestions by Rich Van K: >1. Guest guest
Thank you for your responses.  I do have discomfort now, every time I eat. Especially in the summer. I am going to see a genetic specialist who may diagnose me with EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) or MCAD (Mast Cell Activation Disorder) and in either case, it is recommended that a patient take, in combination H1 and H2 inhibitors, in the morning and the evening. H2 inhibitors are like Prilosec or Zantac and H1 inhibitors are Benadryl and Zyrtec. In terms of natural remedies - they kind of contradict what the doctors from above recommend - as one of our problems is the low amount of acid in our tummies which in turn gave us acid reflux. So, the goal, as my nutritionist mentioned a couple of years ago and another member just listed here, would be to up the acid for eating and then lower it in between eating in order to control the pain of GERD. In between meals, I take aloe vera and probiotics and drink teas with fresh ginger. With meals I'm taking enzymes and eating very slowly. I've been trying to reduce acid between meals with that NOW enzyme/acid reducer I told you about. I don't tolerate Zantac or Pepcid very well.  I'm going to order the colostrum soon, so thanks for that too.  It's all a work in progress, because the more I try to work with my stomach, the more symptoms I'm having.   ________________________________ From: Chardale Irvine <ch_irv@...> " " < > Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 7:44 PM Subject: Re: Re: Connection between methylation and GERD/Chardale  Hi , I'm not really sure what the Prilosec is doing or how but I know it works for me. Guest guest
Question: how do we know that we are balancing the serum, tissue, stomach PH? I thought that taking urine, serum, or digestive, tissue sample would all differ in PH? How to balance all those?? Confused...
