Guest guest
" Frontal headache, and you " hear " your pulse in your temple " I get headaches across my forehead frequently sometimes with hearing my pulse but it seems to be in my ears, not temples. I should see an eye doctor for this? Sorry, doesn't make sense to me.
Guest guest
Hi , I think anytime you 'hear' your pulse, whether it is in your temples or ears, you should be checked by an otologist and an opthomologist. Opthomologist can see the blood vessels in the back of the eye very clearly and can see if you have blockages in the blood vessels of the eye. If so, I think they send you to a cardiologist to get your other cranial blood vessels checked. They are checking for things like the carotid artery, blockages that can cause a TIA or a stroke. Some people I know have had severe sight loss due to a rupture of one of these blood vessels - not macular degeneration which is a slow leak (my mom has this) but a sudden rupture. Sometimes the sight comes back and sometimes only partially. I have heard stories of brain tumors (along or on the optic nerve) being found through an eye exam. I would not discount what they can see. If you click on the link that goes to Dr. 's presentation, she has some slides that have color photos of the blood vessels that are blocked and what that looks like. My mom hears her pulse and they have called it Menieres disease but she has regular TIA's and she has macular degeneration. It is not something to dismiss.
