Guest guest
I can't believe this but I let plain water stand in a stainless steel sauce pan for a couple of days. It had a lid of it so didn't even notice water was in it. When I took off lid there was two or three small fluffy growth floating in the water - yuck. Anyway, washed it carefully with baking soda and then vinegar. In the past I would NEVER wash it so cautiously but.. After it dried I noticed small white sperical shapes inbedded in the steel. I checked out my other stainless steel that I use often also and not there so I figured still mold in it somehow. So I put water in it and boiled it for about 10 minutes. Let it dry out and STILL THERE!!! What the hell!! I looked closely at other pans, not one spot or sphere in them. I can't believe it. I wonder if they just left a stain and that is it. Does mold grow on stainless steel?? I guess I will put pan someplace and see if spots turn into moldy growth. I'm just shocked. Pan had lid on it. Does this mean anything about my house, i.e. moldy or would mold naturally be present in water and grow from that when it sat stagnant? Thanks
