Guest guest Posted March 6, 2004 Report Share Posted March 6, 2004 Dear FORUM, Kerala Health Studies and Research Centre (KHSRC) announces a National Seminar on ‘HIV/AIDS in Kerala – Emerging Trends and Future Perspectives for Action’ to be held on 22nd and 23rd May 2004 at Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The seminar is to delve on the following thematic areas: 1. HIV in Kerala – an overview (Covers epidemiological, socio-cultural and political issues) 2. Response to the epidemic (Historical perspective with focus on stigma and discrimination, state response, responses of various professions, civil society response, civil society organisations’ response, Professional organisations’ responses etc) 3. The left out and the marginalized (Women, children, sexual minorities, CSWs, tribals, migrant workers, poor and the migrants) 4. Policy challenges (Prevention and prevention needs, care and treatment, resource mobilisation and resource management, social and political mobilisation, vaccine trials) 5. 3/5 initiatives of WHO and Kerala Seminar is to be organised in various sessions, with key note presentations on each theme to be followed by presentations by participants. Research papers, case studies and testimonies are invited under the themes mentioned above.
