Guest guest
I have a fabulous relationship with my store manager at the Whole Foods Market here inVegas. He has now pulled off the shelves all Cling Free dryer sheets, fortunately, he didn't carry Bounce. He has asked me to find him an alternative to offer his customers. I do not use fabric softeners of any kind so I am at a loss as what to recommend. Suggestions please! HE seemed concerned that others were having proboems with the WF in their areas and asked me to do the following: Have the people on your discussion groups approach the store managers (as I did) and educate them on MCS, toxins etc. Offer alternatives so that they wouldn't have customers going to another store to make purchases. He knows I want the aromatherapy and candles out of the store and thats going to be our next project. He told me that corporate is concerned about bottom line but that the are interested in health related issues also. That if they can see that the sales would not be affected and safe products work for all they are ameniable to that. He is going to try to put me in touch with central aka coroporate to discuss accessiblity issues regarding fragrances etc., and alternatives to perFUMY things. It seems that a customer came in said you have MSG hidden in some of your products and its creating a problem. He didn't know all the names of MSG so I gave them to him. That seemed to confirm what theother customer said and he I believe is going to notify corporate about it. At that time I took the opportunity to give him the list that formaldehyde goes under, as they have a very large H & BA section. He said all store team leaders will listen, enacting might be a challenge but they need to be educated and change sooner or later will be done. He has no objection to anyone referencing his store as the one that is slowly being changed to a more fragrance free/MCS friendly store. Angel " Toliet water was meant to be FLUSHED, not WORN! Guest guest
This sounds great. The only clash of interests I see is people who are turning to alternatives for perscription drugs say that are seeking out things like 'aroma therapy' but if there is enough demand for store to be MCS safe, then they will get rid of it. As for an alternative, do you mean to 'soften' in the dryer? I have gone to a number of doctors which warn patients ahead of time to not wear fragrance to their offices, so progress is being made is some places. ----- Original Message ----- From: " Angel MCS " <jap2bemc@...> > He has asked me to find him an > alternative to offer his customers. Guest guest
I already addressed that with him and he is waiting for the aromatherpew display to sell out. I had volunteered to walk past it, have my usual dizzyness near it and pull it down as I was trying to hold on to it...he got nervous and asked me to not do it LOL BUt, he has taken all testers off the ledge by check out and we are discussing removing all testers form the store. Candles we are throwing ideas around about wrapping them in plastic to contain some of the vapors. I am complying a list of aromatherapew hotels here in Vegas that do not warn people that they are using thst crap in the HVAC. I have talked to a few risk managers and told them youhave a time bomb ticking with not telling people a head of time. Of course they say it's so low you can not detect it...bull and I told them so. I said just wait some unsuspecting person is going to come in, collapse and wehen you get your first lawsuit then you will see it's not as safe as you are promoting. I was able to get the actual flyers fomr the manufacturers and the owner tried to tell me that people with mcs are calling and THANKING him for this....I think that his so called mcs people are not true as most will not tolerate commeriocally produced arpmatherapew. Angel exactly what is aromatherpew? I use many 100% pure essential oils and have no problems with them. Is this something different? My local Whole Foods supply synthetic essential oils which I'd never touch and wish they wouldn't stock; same for a number of other products that are synthetic and certainly not non-toxic. Guest guest
I call aromatherapy aromatherpew (pew as in stinky) Rosie, I have gone around and arpund with others who like EO's. I do not think that they are as safe as they are promoted to be. They are an oil/lipid etc., and I feel that those who have mcs and have lost the integrity of the blood brain barrier and the inhalation of such I feel does stay in the brain as like attracts likes. I have had people send me the articles form places such as *youngs* or something like that EO's. I really do not wish to get into a major discussion which will probably result in nothing more than repeating of assertions of your views/info vs mine. Lets leave it that we agree to disagree.
