Guest guest
Hey, It's awful how unresponsive they have been. But one of the reasons is because the issue is so complex they don't know what to do with it. So they do nothing. And the fact that they are getting political pressure on the other side to do nothing only makes it worse. We have to break this issue down and address just the two or three most important aspects that will get it going in the right directions. HR 1269 has some very good aspects to it, but in my opinion, it is too much to ask for at one time. They don't even acknowledge we are really sick. That is the first place we have to start. Three things that would make a tremendous initial impact in this issue, are not technical and are simple for politicians to understand are: 1. Train our doctors how to recognize, diagnose and treat mycotic diseases. 2. Make all prior water damage, sewage damage and mold growth a mandatory disclosure. 3. Start an active campaign to inform the public of the serious potential health hazards of " toxic mold " . Simple, cheap, easy. Should be non-confrontational and seems like what any caring person would want to do. But won't be nonconfrontational. Those who are concerned about losing lawsuits will fight it tooth and nail. Once the doctors are trained then they have lost their edge at denying workers' comp and denying liability when negligence has occurred. One of the most difficult aspects of dealing with this issue is that we tend to give too much information to the point that those who we are trying to explain things to, have their eyes glaze over. If we could develop just those three points above into a canned, verbatum battle cry, we could make a big impact. Keep fighting . We're gonna get there!!!
