Yesterday I was in a huge used book store trying to find an out-of-print book. Soon as I opened the door smelled very strong pesticides. They must have just sprayed the building and used too high concentrations of the pesticide. Interesting I didn't have the typical MCS pesticide reaction, just my face burning as soon as I opened the door. Hence my question about the " burn " . I do recall this bookstore was flooded 4 years ago due to bad storm we had locally and I seriously doubt they did any remediation. Haven't been in there in years. Wondering now I the high concentration of the pesticide cause the burn or the certainly probability of mold/mycotoxins from the flood. Any insight? Need to learn. Guest guest
thanks erik....i know you can't see the burn per se......but yes, i DO have the rashes as well. ONLY cleared with antifungal creams, like lamisil. and NO, this is NOT fun......lol. take good care! victoria [] Mycotoxin Burn The role of inflammatory cytokines is to send messages of distress to the brain and immune system. The mycotoxins induce the cells to send these messages - in a huge way sometimes! Your skin cells can be distressed by these toxins too, and while there generally IS also an allergic component, which leads allergists to believe that what they are seeing is PRINCIPALLY an allergic component, there is a wild response of toxin induced cytokine messaging that is trying desperately to tell you just how damaging this exposure is. That's why allergists can't understand it when you complain about some type of strange response that is far beyond the customary allergic reactions they know and love so well. Allergists generally suspect that any complaint of yours that is out of the range of the known capacity of allergic reactions is likely to be psychosomatic. Too bad they don't have enough scientific curiousity to follow up and discover that even beyond spore antigenic effects, we are dealing with neurotoxins. Can't always see the " Mycotoxin Burn " . It depends upon the type and dose of toxin and whether you are also having enough spore contact to induce a visible rash.
