For me, since seeing Dr S and reading the Book, and reading all you people share

on line

I am just beginning to identify " hits "

It could be sinus, eyes and breathing & coughing difficulty. That passes more

quickly, if I get out of the exposure immediately.Otherwise it becomes an

asthmatic attack. But when I get pain in my ankles and fingers that

proliferates through my body and lasts for days, and makes me non-functional,

then I know I had a WHAMMIE

:

You really know yourself and your illness and body. I never miss a beat reading

your posts. You amaze me at all the work you put into helping yourself to

improve and get a handle on the illness. Just the research you did in

identifying your hits with contaminated items says a lot about how ill you were

and wanted to get well

Thanks for sharing Elie

You betcha.

I remember my family telling me that all I had to do was change my

atitude and get a little motivation. They would bring me

stupid " motivational tapes " and say " You are so closed minded. Why

don't you listen to this tape? I really think this could help you

out " .

And I'd say " What? With a physical response to mold? How the heck is

any stupid tape going to do that? You are looking at the most

motivated person you ever saw in your life. I don't need any damn

tape to tell me anything unless it has a section on how to motivate

doctors to listen to reality " .

I bought a camper after staying in it overnight to make sure it

was " good " . I never brought it to the " bad place " and I allowed

NOTHING from my former life to enter it. Whenever I felt the

slightest hint of a response, I would bag my clothes and shower so

as to avoid cross contamination. I always kept my camper handy so

whenever I'd get a significant exposure - I had my " escape " ready

for immediate use.

I can't tell you how awesome it is to be able to resolve " mold

slams " or " whammies " ( I like that ) IMMEDIATELY, before they turn

into a days long butt kicking drop dead killer whup-ass event.

Yes, I do have control and don't need to rely on any testing -

for I am the test and the " escape module " of a mold free camper is

the instant resolution.

Within six months I had gone from being in Dr s ampligen

program and being " at the point where most people with CFS commit

suicide " to climbing Mt Whitney and taking unbelievable control over

an illness that had kicked me around for years.

OK, so maybe it's not a cure. But I've spent years climbing

mountains and controlling symptoms that used to have me lying

helpless on the floor. Not a magic bullet, but it ain't bad

compared to the alternative.

I look forward to Dr Shoemaker finding ways to eradicate this

nonsense.

symptoms aren't the same as many others on this list, i KNOW my illness is

from molds.....
