Guest guest
There is a Holiday Inn Express that has a special " Shoemaker " rate. He also sends info about other hotels in the area with his packet of forms. The Holiday Inn Express does not use carpet fresh or room deodorizers, which was a big help with my MCS. However I was hit by chlorine from the pool when I walked in the lobby. And they do use regular cleaning products. I always bring an air purifier with me for hotel rooms. If necessary I wash down surfaces with vinegar or baking soda. My room did not have a new vinyl curtain. It would have made me very sick. Hotel rooms usually make me very sick, but this one did not. On Dr. Shoemaker's hotel info sheet, he says that the Holiday Inn has one MCS room. When I called to make my reservation, the hotel manager said they did not and he doesn't know how that rumor got started. I informed of this and she said she would talk to Dr. Shoemaker. However, no longer works in Shomaker's office so I don't know if the change was made. But since I did mention my issues with the hotel manager, he did agree to work with me. Since I could tolerate the bathroom, I suspect he may have held my room in advance and not cleaned it for a day or two. I hope this info helps. Saralee Rosen homerose@... Guest guest
ThanKs Saralee and Sue for the information about the Holiday Inn Express. That is the one that seemed to be the best to me also. I will let everyone know how this visit goes. Since I can't take the CSM, it will be interesting to see what he says to do.
