It really made me stop and think. And here it is...Oh, , I am not taking good care of myself. I mean I used to. In fact, I've lost weight with you several times in the past. But I've had a couple of really horrible years and have regained all of the weight I'd lost. As a matter of fact, I now weigh more than I have ever weighed in my life. I have put so much extra weight on my body, it's plain uncomfortable to live inside my body now. And worse, it seems that almost every part of my body hurts. The bottom of my feet are always red and swollen. I have to put heat pads on my ankles and lower back. I remember once being so active and it's hard to believe that I am so inactive now. It gets worse. On my last visit to the doctor, I received some bad news I never expected to hear. He told me I was diabetic! I have to immediately start on oral medication to help bring my sugar levels down. My sugar was 340 when I checked this morning. I now have to take nine pills a day. See, I also now have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and suffer from depression. I'm writing you today, , because I'm scared to death that I'm going to die before my time. I think about it everyday. And each night, before I go to bed, I worry if I'm even going to wake up in the morning.Can you relate to this woman's worry and sorrow. Can you hear the pain in her words? Do you sometimes feel the same kind of pain? Are you fearful of dying or of not waking up in the morning?Well, I have to tell you that you should be scared to death, that is, if you're not taking good care of yourself. I mean, seriously, you're making yourself into a walking time bomb by neglecting your health. At any moment, your heart could give out or you could stop breathing. So many terrible things can happen to you when your body is such an unhealthy mess. But...I don't want you to let fear get to you. You should look at the situation with your health and not fear it but get ready to fix it! If you lose this weight, you'll fix your cholesterol, your blood pressure and lower your sugar numbers. If you lose the weight, your heart and lungs will be stronger and you'll improve your circulation. You won't be scared to climb stairs anymore. You won't be afraid to bend down or to sit in a chair without fear of being able to get up on your own. My Lord, so many things will improve in your life by simply improving your eating and exercise habits. And I know you really want to see your life and health improve, don't you?So, instead of being scared to death, be happy to live! When you start on a healthy weight-loss program and begin seeing your weight go down, you'll feel such joy that the fear of dying will be the last thing on your mind!You've got a weekend coming up. So, how are you going to live it? Are you gonna be scared or confident?
