Guest guest Posted June 20, 2005 Report Share Posted June 20, 2005 Does anyone on the lists keep getting fumed up statements from DIllards or GE Credit Card Services? Ever since Dillards switched to GE instead of Dillards National Bank the mail has been reeking. Three months ago it started and I discovered it via my husband who is far from being sensitive. HE brought in the mail and all of a sudden his eyes were tearing...when asked what happened he said " let me go upstairs photocopy this bill and get it out of the house " . It seems it was so strong he reacted. Of course, he had put it down on the countertop and I just HAD to investigate...bad move....aside from an immediate headache, it took almost 2 WEEKS to get the smell out of the countertop! Needless to say, it had started a round of " ok, we will look into it and call you back starting at the lowest level...aka Customer service to DIllards corporate all the way to the portfolio manager of GE Credit in CT. They seem to think putting inserts is not a concern that really needs to be addressed any further than just making a followup call and that will be the end. After the round of asskissing from GE/Dillards this month I announced the following: If this is not fixed and the INTNETIONAL violation of the ADA by harassing people with the onserts they are going to be seeing their name in the news. After this one of the managers in Phoenix FINALLY got an answer as to how the inserts are put in. As if this query was a major secret. I am now being told that they will LOOK INTO having a program written to try and remediate this situation. Of course, this is a corporate answer for this will stall them for a while. He was informed if they are SO concerned that they shoudl STOP the inserts until they get the program written. Also, I DEMANDED a writted letter from GE corporate regarding the comments he made. As the letter was going to be scanned in and posted......I made a suggestion to show their intentions...until they get the computer programming running for this to STOP the inserts as that would force them to really work out a solution. If you have had any problems with fragrances, they need to know that its not a neccesity to pay a bill, only a statement and return envelope is required. If they receive enough calls their marketing department is going to have to do something. Bill Scallion direct line for Dillard 480/707-4426. He even said when Dillards did the billing, you could NOT smell the inserts until you opened the box. I beleive this as my statements NEVER reeked after I made the call to stop the inserts.
