's Daily Message MondayJanuary 28, 2008ARE YOU ON A DIET?

Have you started some diet that you didn`t want me to know about? Oh, yeah? Okay, so what diet are you on?

Are you on a low-carb or no-carb diet? A high protein one? Is it one of those no-fat ones? Wait, let me guess...maybe it`s a one-meal-a-day diet, huh? Are you taking diet pills or picking up one of those diet shakes at a nearby 7-Eleven? Oh, you`re not doing that either? Well, maybe you`re just not on any diet at all!

Wait! You mean you`re not trying to lose weight at all this year? I know that can`t be right. I mean, you told me that you were going to lose weight this year. You wrote me this very long E-mail at the beginning of the year telling me how excited you were about this new year. You said that 2008 was going to be your year to finally lose this weight! Remember?

Now look, I don`t want you going on any of those stupid diets. I`m talking about the kooky diets where you lose a little weight, at first but then the pounds angrily come back! (And maybe even bring a few friends with them, as in more pounds!) I don`t want you to taking any of those diet pills, either. Even though our government, through the Food and Drug Administration even approves many of them!

No, I don`t want you walking into a grocery store and buying a diet shake. But I certainly don`t want you to not do anything about your weight, either!

Now pay attention, everybody. If you`re on an unsafe or unhealthy diet, I want you to stop them...now! I mean it. Throw out the diet pills and shakes. It`s time for you to begin anew.

It`s Monday. And you and I both know that Monday is one of the most popular start-days for a new diet. But you`ve never had to wait until Monday to start a new weight-loss program. Why don`t you take my advice and start a new, healthy lifestyle right this very minute! How?

Well, you begin my planning three healthy, well-balanced meals a day for your body. You need to plan your snacks. You need to make a commitment to drink all of the water your body needs. You need to stay away from all the salty and processed foods.

Don`t drive through those fast foods places anymore. Drive around them! Remove all of those restaurant menus held in place on your fridge by those magnets.

You need to eat more fruits, more vegetables, more salads, more lean proteins and more complex carbohydrates. You need dairy products for strong bones and, yes, you also need the right amount of fats. They`ll help aid your body`s digestion process.

But as important as all this information is, you also need to believe that you can do this! You need to believe that you`re stronger than the foods you`ve been giving so much power to in your life by overeating. You must make time to get in that kitchen and prepare healthy recipes for yourself to eat everyday.

And, trust me, when you believe in yourself on Monday, you`ll see how much more you`ll believe in yourself on Tuesday, on Wednesday and on every other day of the week, too!

Come on now, everybody! You know the right way to lose this weight! Don`t be tempted by that little devil on your left shoulder. He`s there to tell you about all of the other crazy ways that are out there to lose weight. Remember, he`s a devil and not to be trusted!

So don`t believe him...believe moi!
