Please tell me if I belong here or not. If not, I will certainly drop

out. We hired a pest control company in Feb. 2003. They came here

and sprayed our ranch inside and out every two months. I started

getting sick and it just got worse and worse, until I finally figured

it out. We had to get rid of our couch, drapes, have all the

baseboards washed. I had to move out of the house for awhile. I

ended up with coughing, mucous, gagging, vomiting, and extreme

shortness of breath 24/7. I would lose breath just turning over in

bed. I could not walk out to our horses, I had to drive. The

poisoning aggravated a heart problem I have and injured my lungs. I

have improved slightly over the years. But yesterday I ended up in ER

with the heart problem. The dr. ordered a chest x-ray and said I had

pulmonary edema due to smoking! I told him I have NEVER smoked. So

then he discussed the pesticide issue. I have recently purchased a

house air purifier, and am taking Vit. O, and a lot of other herbs and

vit/min. I'm wondering if anyone on this site has had problems with a

pest control company. I affectionately call my problem Orkinitis.

Thanks for any information.

Unfortunately, you are in the masses whenit comes to pesticide injury.

Write steve@..., he was a former exterminator and now knows the

damage this does to the body.

Did they tell you that it was safe? As by federal law you can not say a

pesticide is safe as its very design was meant to be toxic.

What did they use?

An aged Walnut Grower in Sacramento just died of West Nile virus.

The family said that he had worked with pesticides his entire life

only to be felled by the mosquito borne virus.

They urged that spraying to control mosquitoes be increased and

opponents of pesticides should be ignored.

So we've got the " I've drenched myself in toxins my whole life

without harm " folks working against the " Toxins have destroyed my

life " people.

It's pretty plain that the unspoken feeling of society is:

" If you drop from our wonderful chemicals, it's not from the

chemical but from your own weakness and is YOUR problem.

We are not going to allow your individual problem to interfere with

the greater good derived from better living through chemistry " .
