Guest guest
Hi, There are lots better things to do than watch TV in the evenings. Maybe you can go out with friends, walk around in the mall, get involved with sports, etc. Personally I don't have much time for TV, but I do find myself sometimes wanting to munch mindlessly when I do watch TV. So mostly I watch shows like Biggest Loser and weight-related shows which are difficult to watch without feeling guilty about eating. I also watch shows and workout on my elliptical at the same time, which kind of makes it difficult to eat. I try to get myself out and doing things rather than sitting at home watching TV, and that helps me a lot. Sometimes I go out dancing, or I take my son to the park, or I go shopping and walk around looking at things. On weekends I like to go to the farmer's market and walk around and pick out healthy veggies. I do a lot of cleaning to keep myself busy and active and keep everything tidy. So maybe ask yourself, what are the shows I am watching doing to better my life? Maybe you can cut down on your viewing and get involved in some more constructive activities that won't fuel the temptations. Luv, Debby San , CA 147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed! I am so used to doing that. I even thought about starting to crochet or something to use my hands so I wouldn't want to eat. Does anyone have any ideas?? I've been using the slim fast optama shakes and drinkin tons of water. I hope someone has some ideas. Thanks,
Guest guest
> Ok. I am having a MAJOR problem in evenings. I gave up decades ago and always plan an evening snack for myself. I usually have my daily banana at that time, and when I do crave crunky things, like you are now, I go for the rice cakes. I used to make hummus or spread peanut button on them, but that now brings the calorie count up a bit too high. Now Quaker makes a bunch of flavored rice cakes, and the BBW or chocolate are perfect, depending on whether I want savory/spicy or sweet. One rice cake and I'm satisfied. >I even thought > about starting to crochet or something to use my hands so I wouldn't > want to eat. I can't do that - I have to see one thing or another or I lose track of the plat and miss dialogue (mostly because I need the captions becasue of my hearing loss) or screw up the item I'm working on, like a piece of embroidery. >I've been using the slim > fast optama shakes and drinkin tons of water. If you don't like that rice cake idea, there's always baby carrots dipped in hummus or a home-made low fat dip, or some whole grain crackers (read the labels), or just make yourself a bowl of oatmeal. OK, so the packets of instant have all kinds of sugars added, but they also have a lot of fiber, so that one little bowl will satisfy you for a long time. Better yet - make the plain and add your own fruit flavoring. No fresh fruit? Add a bit of all-natural jam or jelly. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
What about popcorn ? not the movie theater one though....but popcorn takes time to eat and it is a lot of work cause you have to grab it out of the bowl and you can only get a few pieces at a time in your hand. So it might take enough time and consume you to get you over the munchies hump.
