Guest guest
's Daily Message ThursdayJanuary 24, 2008STEP IT UP! I had such a fantastic talk with from Arlington, Texas. First, a little background. A little over a year ago, I wrote a Message of the Day about making the commitment to exercise. Well, read that message and it convinced her that it was time for her to begin working out. She admits, that at 402 pounds, her body was not in very good shape. So she decided to start her new exercise routine by taking very small steps. She began by doing a 20-minute stretch each morning and, boy, did they ever make a difference in the way she felt. As she continued, after two weeks, she was feeling so good that she decided to try and do even more! decided to move her stretching routine to the evenings and, in the mornings, started a 30-minute toning or aerobics workout. After a week of that, she wanted to step things up even more. (You go, !) Since she gets two 15-minute breaks a day at her office, hit upon a brilliant idea. She decided to start bringing her iPod to work and, at break time, she'd put on her iPod and do a 15-minute walk-in-place right there beside her desk! After those mini-workouts, she`d get her heart rate up and feel her endorphins just come alive. People at work noticed her newfound dedication to exercise and one of her coworkers even decided to start doing those mini-workouts with her! Their department manager would walk by during their workout breaks and as he did, he`d encourage them both to keep up the good work! How do you like this great story so far? I mean, here`s a woman who hadn`t exercised in a very long time and weighed just over 400 pounds. But she started out with small steps but kept stepping up her program. And you know what else happened as a result of her stepping it up? Well, her weight stepped down! In fact, since she`s started, `s weight has stepped down 79 pounds! And by losing just 23 more pounds, she`ll be out of the 300`s! Hoo-ray for her! I hope you`re really soaking up this success story. And isn`t it a wonderful one? At the end of our last conversation, told me this: , I no longer look so much to the end results. I concentrate on the success I have already achieved. I look at myself and see that I`m already healthier and I feel so much better. And I realize that I`m worth it and that`s plenty motivation to keep me right on fighting! Good for you, ! Talk about making a real commitment to exercise. Now, like , are you ready to make that kind of commitment? Oh! I do so hope you`re good and ready to... Step it up!
