Guest guest
The smoothie in the commute glass worked really well yesterday; I will probably do that today, plus add toast or something for crunch. Chipotle fajita burrito - wonderful as always, but I tried to build one in the WW online food tracker, and it was probably 15 points, not counting the chips (I didn't do chips yesterday, but normally we do). I don't think I'll give up this meal. My friend Barb and I go every Monday. It's early in the week so the salt won't affect my weigh-in, and we figure, that way, we have at least ONE good thing about Mondays (grin). HOWEVER, I think I can modify it. I always take the fajita option (bell peppers and onions) instead of the beans. Then, I pick out most of the onions. If I skip the fajita part, go even half a serving on the beans, that would probably be better for me, fiber-wise. And, I think I can do the sour cream OR the cheese, but not both. These two changes, I can probably shave 3 points off the meal. I can't stand guacamole, so that's not an issue, but the chips, well, that will be a problem. We happened to do Mexican food for dinner, too. Homemade tacos, with kidney beans added to meat to extend it, and freshly made pico (yum). This stuff gets raves when I bring a batch to work. Easy to do and you can "hot it up" as much or little as you want. I used one jalapeno and no chili pepper, because I'm a wimp. I thought I'd be snacking in the evening, but I got busy on the computer, and just didn't think about it. I hardly touched the candy dish at work, maybe 3-4 pieces instead of, oh, a DOZEN. I moved the dish to the copy room, not that far away, but enough that I don't see it every time I leave my cube. I even went into the copy room several times and forgot it was in there. And, there was no revolt from the masses, several people were grateful to see it a little less conspicuous. The dish was still nearly full at the end of the day, usually it's empty by 3. I don't remember what the meal plan says for dinner tonight, and my Palm is upstairs. But, I feel good knowing that there IS a plan, and I'm beginning to feel I really NEED to eat breakfast before I leave in the morning, or at least take it with me. You don't know how big this is for me; I've been skipping breakfast for over 30 years. Have a great day, everyone. Eileen
Guest guest
Eileen, I am also a breakfast skipper, I started out eating breakfast again in Feb when I re-started this journey. I started with egg beaters with onion, green pepper and mushrooms, put on a whole wheat tortilla, with light laughing cow cheese. Cals: Egg beater 35 veggies 40 Tortilla 80 cheese 30 ---------------------- 185 Snack was: 1 cup burt of berries 70 1 cup light and fit vanilla 80 --------------------------------------- 150 I have since found that making the eggs wrap just was not my thing. I changed to the berries and yogurt for breakfast. I normally make up 2 at a time, one for breakfast for that day and one for the next. It does well in a ziploc storage container. I get the frozen "bust of berries" at Gordons Food Service. One bag is about $10 and there are 16 cups per bag. It has black berries, raspberries, blue berries, and strawberries. I have a hard time paying the bit extra for the fit and light dannon yogurt, but not too much when I look at the calories, they go from 240ish to 80 per cup. Just another option I wanted to put out there. Granted it is alot of carbs, but there is also some fiber in the berries, and some protien in the yogurt. I have also added granola to the top, but find for the calories they don't do alot. a You rock. That's why Blockbuster's offering you one month of Blockbuster Total Access, No Cost.
