Guest guest
Taken from the opening/closing scenes of "Pretty Woman" - Gosh, I love that movie! Maybe it is because I secretly wish some day Jay would hand over his credit card and tell me to have fun shopping LOL!! I know he won't do that, but he comes close when he takes me shopping <wink> But seriously, it's been my favorite movie since it came out in the 80s Ok. So in the opening/closing scenes this guy is going "hey sugar, what's your dream.... everyone's gotta have a dream.... what's YOUR dream??" Today while I was walking, I thought to myself: I want to ride a horse! I sat on one once in my teens and let it walk around with me on it. I was a little freaked out at that point and wouldn't let it go faster or anything. But, I want to ride a horse. There are a lot of things that I want to do that I feel can be compensated for without losing weight, you know? I mean, come on, we can go hiking, biking, flying, etc but to ride a horse...? I seriously need to lose more weight before I can do that! I'd break the poor animal's back! So, I have been thinking about taking the kids to the ocean this summer and you can rent horses, etc to play on the beach and I'd love to do that. But, I won't do that until I am at goal weight. So, that's my dream. Well, I have a lot of dreams, but this one is goal-weight related. A close second is to go on the rides at the fair. I won't do that until I am closer to 200 - too much fear still of being ready to go and being turned away because the safety things can't close over me. I think this fall I will be close enough actually to try it. Not to put pressure on myself, but if I am at 75-90 lbs gone, I will try it! So. How about you? Hey baby, what's your dream?? in WA310/251.2/170 (-58.8 total, 11.2 from half-way point) I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it! -Art Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Guest guest
, I guess my dream is to be able to wear normal size clothes. I get so tired of having to get PLUS size clothes. I have had the humiliation of being to big to get on a ride at the fair. I was so embarrassed so I can relate to that. Guest guest
> , I guess my dream is to be able to wear normal size clothes. I get so tired of having to get PLUS size clothes. I have *never* worn normal sized clothes. As a newborn at 10 pounds I was wearing 3-6 month size already, and even if I wasn't a chubby kid my mom would have made all my clothes, anyway, being a seamstress by trade. The one time in my life when I *was* down to 120 pounds at age 12 it lasted only a month, not even long enough to get new clothes that fit that size. Even my Catholic high school uniforms had to be custom made. The size I am now, anywhere between 26 - 30 depending on brand and cut, is the size I've been wearing ever since I hit 180 pounds in my late teens and was the same size I wore when I was almost 300 in 1999 in my late 40's. On one of the blogs that I read a women well over 300 pounds just found a place local to her that rescues horses, those from race tracks or something that were destined for dog food, and the owner said there's no reason why people of every size can't ride a horse, you just have to find the right horse. Do you think cowboys and ranchers in the years before tractors cared what they weighed before getting on a horse? Even in the movies you'll see fat actors on horses in all the old Westerns. Just go and get on one. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
There are supposed to be horses that are larger and support larger folks better. I think they are called Clydesdale Horses.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clydesdale_(breed)Clydesdales are noted for grace and versatility; they can stand as tall as 18 hands (1.8 meters or 6 feet) in height and up to one ton (2,000 pounds) in weight.Personally I am afraid of horses for some reason so I have never wanted to do this, but I don't think I would feel bad at your weight on a Clydesdale. Many horses can carry two lighter riders which would be heavier than you for sure.Luv,Debby in San , CA147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed!Group: curingcandida/Website: http://www.naturallythriving.comCurrently studying for Nutrition license and PhD in Psychology----- Original Message ----From: Sue in NJ On one of the blogs that I read a women well over 300 pounds just founda place local to her that rescues horses, those from race tracks orsomething that were destined for dog food, and the owner said there's noreason why people of every size can't ride a horse, you just have tofind the right horse.
